Canada Immigration Express Entry

Written by Amine

Canada Immigration Express Entry is the system for managing permanent residence applications under the existing immigration program. It basically selects skilled workers to Canada under the federal economic program. Applicants are required to submit an online profile to the Express Entry Pool so that provincial governments and Canadian employers across the country can access the best candidates invited by the federal government to apply for permanent residence.

Who is eligible?

Express Entry immigration is designed for skilled workers who are currently working in Canada or even other countries. Therefore, be sure to check the National Occupational Classification to see if your occupation qualifies before applying. To be eligible for entry, you must be enrolled in one of the existing immigration programs, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, the Federal Skilled Worker Program and the Canadian Experience Class. These programs also have different requirements, including work experience, education and language skills.

process

The Fast Track system is not as complicated as it sounds. It’s actually a short process involving a few steps.

step 1

The first step in Express Entry requires potential candidates to complete a relevant profile online. The form is secure and used to provide the required information about their language abilities, work experience, skills, education and other details needed to assess them. Candidates are admitted to the Candidate Pool after meeting federal immigration program criteria. If candidates do not have an LMIA-supported job offer or nomination from a Territory, they will be required to register with the ESDC Job Bank in order to connect them with qualified Canadian employers.

Job seekers can also increase their chances of working with employers by using recruiters and job boards. ESDC requires an LMIA in order for a job offer to be valid in the Express Track and earn points. However, there is no fee charged for permanent residence applications.

step 2

After candidates have been applied and assessed, the highest-ranked candidates are invited to apply for permanent residency. This system ranks candidates based on their scores, also known as the Comprehensive Ranking System. The information provided in the profile is used to award points, and those with the highest points in the pool are invited to apply. Points are awarded for job offers, nominations from regions or provinces, and experience and skills factors. LMIA-backed job offers and provincial nominations attract extra points for candidates. The higher your rank as a candidate, the better your chances of getting an invitation.

Once you receive your invitation, you will have a 60-day window to submit your permanent residence application. Citizenship and Immigration Canada takes six months or less to process a complete application, and candidates can stay in the pool for up to one year. If they are not invited to apply for permanent residence during this time, then they are free to submit a new profile to start the process anew.

Canada Immigration Express Entry makes it easier for interested candidates to obtain permanent residence in the county. Find out if you qualify and start your trip to Canada.
